General Information
As a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association, all of our East Coast Collegiate Hockey Association affiliated teams, including the BRHC, play by the 2014-16 NCAA Men's and Women's Ice Hockey Rules & Interpretations.
Referee Evaluations or Complaints by Coaches:
Referee evaluations from Coaches & General Managers must be submitted online and will be sent directly to the ECCHA.
Complaints from Fans and Non-Representatives:
Any complaint or concerns regarding the BRHC or ECCHA; its players, coaches, referees or sponsored events should be directed to the ECCHA. Please provide as many details as possible in your email.
Incident Report for Officials:
All referees should file an incident report for any disqualification, supplemental disciplinary request or serious injury to the ECCHA RIC within 24 hours. Any official present during an event involving the ECCHA which required the need for emergency services should immediately notify the ECCHA Emergency Contact 24/7 at (703) 915-0575.
Employment of Officials:
To referee for college games in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast region, ECCHA officials must successfully pass the ACHA written examination. Applicants must also be certified by USA Hockey Official as Level 3 (or above), provide excellent references from prior officiating organizations, and demonstrate ability to Officiating Regional Directors.
The ECCHA offers competitive compensation, while giving officials access to officiate in any of our 600-plus games a season from Delware to South Carolina.
