Blue Ridge Hockey Conference Mission
The Blue Ridge Hockey Conference (BRHC) was created in August of 2001 with the mission of promoting and developing collegiate ice hockey in the Southeast region, while maintaining academic excellence. The Conference was originally founded by eight collegiate hockey programs in Virginia and North Carolina. Today, the BRHC, operated by the East Coast Collegiate Hockey Association, represents 20 collegiate ice hockey programs in Maryland, DC, Virginia, North and South Carolina. The BRHC continues to lead the region in developing collegiate hockey programs and services for its members, players, coaches and fans. The BRHC and its collegiate programs are all full members of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and frequently are selected to participate in ACHA Regional and National Tournaments.
East Coast College Hockey Association & 501(c)(3) Status
The BRHC is owned and managed by the East Coast Collegiate Hockey Association (ECCHA). The ECCHA is the central authority for practically all collegiate ice hockey services in the region, including the hiring of certified collegiate referees, organizing major public events and managing Conference finances. The ECCHA is a non-profit corporation designated by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) charity. The ECCHA welcomes tax-deductible donations from both individuals and businesses. All contributions go towards collegiate hockey events and community outreach projects. The ECCHA is committed to complete transparency and voluntarily provides its annual public filings through guidstar.org.
